Mrs. Della began the "Flying Club" in September of 2013. We meet Fridays at lunch (sometimes after school). Feel free to join us if you have an interest in aviation in any way, shape or form!

Some ideas for activities in the club are:
  • Build a Magnus Effect plane (google)
  • Flights in Mrs. Della's Piper Comanche (see picture above)
  • Watch movies - Top Gun, Always, October Sky... others
  • ground school lessons (preparation for becoming a pilot)
  • field trips to aviation type locations (Pitt Meadows tower, YVR, ...?)
  • simulator time (donated by flight school?)
  • fly kites; build model rockets and airplanes to fly
  • guest speakers (flight instructor, CASARA, Mission Aviation Fellowship, local RC club...)
  • group purchase of an aircraft to do lessons on??? Not in the near future. And, parents would have to organize this for insurance reasons. :)
  • YVR to watch take-offs and landings at Flight Path Park (end of 26L)
  • Grouse Mountain: flights, airbus
  • Check out a cockpit of an airliner jet
  • Volunteer at the North Fraser Airshow in July
  • etc...
